Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Friday. February 19th. The 6th day of the Hebraic week.
Our verse today is Matthew 6:11
Continuing with our look at the Lord’s prayer, today we look at verse 11. Not much to it right? But boy does it speak volumes. In a world that shouts at that top of it’s longs that we “need” this and we “need” that, Yeshua implies that we are to focus on our daily needs.
How easy it is to get caught up in the desires that the world has to offer. How easy it is to get caught up in thinking that we need this for security or we need that for stability. Don’t get me wrong, everybody wants to have financial peace of mind for their future. Everybody wants to do their best in taking care of their future and even leaving something for their children. The book of proverbs even discusses that.
Yet, we can’t let these concerns consume us to the point that we miss out on what He is wanting us to do today. Planning for our future is truly using wisdom. Yet, when we plan for our future at the cost of hearing for today, what do we really gain?
We’ll come back to this topic in a few more days. Remember, planning for our future is only using wisdom. Just don’t let the future steal what He has for you today.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
