Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Monday. February 22nd. The 2nd day of the Hebraic week.
Our verses today is Matthew 6:14 and 15.
Some might be wondering “Steve, didn’t we just discuss forgiveness in the Lord’s prayer?” Yes we did. But these are the words Yashua spoke to His disciples immediately after giving those men the prayer.
Interesting isn’t it? Out of all the things He could have referred back to in this prayer, He brings back the forgiveness topic. What should this tell us? It should tell us that this is an import topic to our savior. It should tell us that He knows it can be a difficult topic for many.
Forgiving others is all about loving your neighbor as yourself. Just as much as we want to be forgiven by others when we make a mistake, we should be willing to forgive others just the same.
As mentioned the other day, we have a full length teaching dedicated to this topic alone. It’s titled “The Need for Forgiveness.” Please make the time to watch it when you get a chance.
Unforgiveness can find it’s way to creep back into our lives before we know it. Don’t give it that opportunity. It’s in these moments when we have to fight to be weak. We have to fight to let His way rule in our lives and not our own will. I want to say that one more time. We have to fight to let His way rule in our lives and not our own will.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
