Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Tuesday. February 23rd. The 3rd day of the Hebraic week.
Our verses today is Matt. 6:33.34
As promised a few days ago, we’re coming back to the topic of planning for tomorrow. We discussed this briefly from the verse in the Lord’s prayer about praying for our daily bread.
As we noted the other day, planning is always a wise thing. But worry is completely different. It is so easy to be consumed with the cares of this life. They can truly weigh you down. The context surrounding our verses discusses that of food and clothing. Yet, verse 33 spells it out.
It’s all about priorities. Keeping first things first. When we make His Kingdom and His righteousness first in our life, there is no need to worry. I know, I know, it can be easier said than done. However, we cant forget that food and clothing can be lost in a moment. Just ask anyone who lost their house to a fire.
It’s the focus that we need to be mindful of. Keep your focus on Him as your provider and not on the things that are provided. The things of this world are temporary, but He is eternal. Plans can end up, well, not going as planned. But He doesn’t change. He will always be there.
Remember, planning for our future is using wisdom. Just make sure your faith is in Him and not your plans.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
