Footloose – 2 Samuel 6:16
Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.
As the ark of YHWH was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before YHWH, she despised him in her heart.
Amazing isn’t it? How can someone despise another person for rejoicing in YHWH? Could it be out of jealousy or maybe because the person isn’t rejoicing the way they think it should be done? I have yet to see any instruction in the scriptures regarding how we are to rejoice in YHWH.
Later in verse 20 we see David coming home to bless his household. Yet, before he does we see Michal confront him and say “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”
That time, which should have been a blessing from David, was turned into a curse as verse 23 says.
And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
Be mindful of what you criticize others for.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
