Lazy Hands – Proverbs 10:4

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 10:4
Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

It’’s obvious in how this can apply to the physical in attaining monetary wealth. But have you ever thought how this can apply spiritually? Think about it. One who is lazy and is not willing to study the word will become spiritually poor and weak. Yet, one who is diligent in pursuing understanding of the scriptures is rewarded.

Consider Hebrews.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

So do you earnestly seek Him? Or is it a casual “Hey, I’ll find Him when I can.” This is the wealth that should be first and foremost in our desires. The riches and wealth of this world are here today and gone tomorrow. Yet, His Word lasts forever. Talk about an investment.

Start making time to be diligent in seeking Him like never before. Let it grow into an earnest passion. Not so much for knowledge, but for a closer relationship with Him.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom.

Here's something interesting to consider:
