Neglect – Psalm 119:12-16

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 119:12-16
Praise be to you, O YHWH; teach me your decrees. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.

Here are some great words form the man noted as the man after YHWH’s own heart. Just after giving YHWH praise, he asks YHWH to teach him His decrees. When was the last time you asked YHWH to teach you his decrees. Is that your prayer? Shouldn’t that be our prayer? We all know we have much to learn. That being said, shouldn’t we ask to be taught?

I believe verse 16 is the most revealing about David here. He said “I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” You see, you can seek YHWH’s word, but what are going to do with it? Are you going to apply it to your life or are you only going to neglect it?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
