Real Riches – Psalm 119:14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 119:14
I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.

Have you seen those commercials showing a group of people walking up to someones door declaring the people of that home had won a big prize or lots of money? The reaction of the people who won was ecstatic. They were filled with laughter and even unbelief even though they knew it was true. The funny thing is, there’s not been one of us who hasn’t imagined something like that happening to ourselves. When we see those commercials or things like them, we immediately drift into wonderland for an ever brief moment and imagine what it would be like to be a winner of such a prize.

Yet, according to this verse, this really should be how our attitude is everyday because we get to walk in the ways of YHWH. Though lots of money may be nice to have, His ways bring riches that are eternal. His ways bring joy that money can’t buy. While money can definitely make elements of life easier, don’t lose sight of what real riches are.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
