Such Things – Philippians 4:8

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

Wow. What a verse. These are the things we should make ourselves dwell upon. There is so much evil and compromise in the world that we truly need to constantly be mindful of what we allow in our lives. We need to always be on the watch of what we allow to influence us. If we allow things into our lives that takes our minds off of the topics mentioned in our verse, should we allow those things in our lives at all?

Think about this for a second. Is there anything in your life that takes your mind off of these things? Things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy – these are the things we should be focusing on. These are the things that are going to help strengthen our walk. These are the things we should do all we can to fill our hearts and minds with.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
