Aren’t You so Smart? – 2 Peter 1:8-9
Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
Verse 8 let’s us know that we can be unproductive in our knowledge. That’s right. You see, as the old saying goes, nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care. The previous verses mention the qualities that keeps us from being ineffective. Those qualities are goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love.
Verse 9 says anyone who does not have these are is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten he has been cleansed from his past sins. You see, if you don’t work on these qualities in your life, you’re just judging others with the knowledge you’ve been given. You’re forgetting that you were once where others stand today. Forgetting, the Father gave you grace to bring you where you are today.
Please, don’t be unproductive in your knowledge.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
