2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture (April 9)
Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday. April 9th. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And everybody says “HalleluYah.”
Our verses today is 2 Timothy 3:16 and 17.
All scripture. There are many opinions on just what scripture is. There are some who say certain books were removed from the canon and need to be considered scripture still today. Then there are others who say that several books in the Bible today should not be considered scripture.
There really is a vast array of opinions out there on this subject. So, that being said, where does that leave us? What are the verses and books that we should consider scripture for today? Can we at least find a consensus among believers of certain books that should be considered to be “scripture” for today?
We know that YHWH’s word stands forever. According to Isaiah 40:8 that is. So what was the Word that Isaiah was talking about? I think there is little doubt for anyone that Isaiah was talking about the Torah. The instructions of YHWH.
His instructions are eternal. They will never change. And it’s these instructions that we find are useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. It was these instructions that the New Testament believers read and studied to draw closer to the Father.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
