Poison – Proverbs 3:31

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 3:31
Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways,

This is pretty simple right? Do not envy a violent man. Well, what does “envy” really mean? It means to be jealous of because of something. To be discontent with what you have because of what someone else has. To long to have what someone else has.

So don’t long to have what they have. Don’t make it the “apple of your eye” if you will. And don’t choose his ways. Now some might say “Well, I would never choose a violent man’s ways.” Well, be careful. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says…

1 Corinthians 10:12
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!

When we start wanting what they have, the trap is to attain it in similar fashions. Without even knowing it you can take up their behaviors in pursuing that which you are envying them of. Their ways can creep in ever so slowly. This simply reminds us how poison can be taken one drop at a time. It doesn’t have to happen over night.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom
