Giving Account – Matthew 12:36-37

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 12:36-37
But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.

Ya know, this just seems like a verse that gets looked over. It seems as if the Father cares very much about what comes out of our mouths. So if He cares that much, shouldn’t we care with that same amount of concern? I can’t help but wonder just how much we would really talk if we took that much concern on the topic.

Maybe we would think twice before letting something come out. Maybe we would be more mindful of what those words could or would do to others, or even ourselves. Maybe it would make us not say some things at all.

How easy it is to say something and think nothing of it. Yet, obviously, that is not how YHWH wants us to think of it. Everything that comes out of our mouth will be judged.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
