Overcome – Mark 9:24

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Mark 9:24
Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

What an honest statement! Ever been there before? Of course you have. We all have. You may even be there right now. Facing something that is bigger than us can be overwhelming. We want to believe, but everything around us makes it seem so difficult.

Yet, with everything around us shouting doubt, there’s a steady small voice encouraging us to hold on and not give up. To cling on to the very last thread of hope we’ve been given. So we continue on the best we know how.

There are times in life that can truly wear us out. They can seem to drag us to the bottom of the Barrel even. However, have you ever thought that could very well be the plan? Sometimes He wants to empty us of us before we can move forward in Him.

So while we hold on to Him saying “I believe; help me overcome my unbelief!,” don’t let your focus be on getting your prayer answered. Let it be on becoming more like Him. Emptying us of ourselves. Becoming more like Him. When we can achieve this, we can truly overcome our unbelief.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
