Action or Reaction – 1 Peter 3:9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Peter 3:9
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Wow. What a verse. This so goes against our human nature doesn’t it? I mean think about it. If someone does something to you, the natural “knee-jerk” reaction is to do the same in return, right? But there in lies the problem. We aren’t to “RE-act” to anything. Normally “reaction” is based on instinct. Yet, we are to act upon something, not re-act upon something.

When you are treated wrong, don’t seek any vengeance or retaliation. Is it easy? Of course not. But it can be done. Don’t lower yourself to the level of those who do evil to you. If you pay evil to those who do evil to you, where does that evil come from that you’re doing? I can tell you it’s not coming from YHWH.

Let everything we do and say reflect Him. When people see us, let them see Him. When people hear us, let them hear Him. All the time. Everyday.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
