Don’t Look Down – 1 Timothy 4:12

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Are you looking down on someone who is young? If that’s the case, Paul is encouraging those young people to not let that happen.

Maybe you’re not looking down on someone who is physically young, but what about someone who is spiritually young? Perhaps you came to the faith a little earlier than someone else. What if they see something different than you? Do you look down on that because they are “younger” than you? Do you say “Well, they just haven’t learned yet. They’re young.” Be careful. That could be spiritual pride coming out.

Let’s not forget that YHWH spoke to Samuel, who was both physically and spiritually young. He had not yet learned all the “ways” of YHWH from Eli yet. Have we ever thought that might just be WHY he heard from YHWH?

Be careful, YHWH could be putting a Samuel in your midst and your just looking down on them.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
