Trained by Discipline – Hebrews 12:10-11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Hebrews 12:10
Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

YHWH corrects us in the hopes that we get our act together. So we will put our childish self to the side and focus on His righteousness.

Our verse says discipline produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. First, please take note of what discipline produces. Our verse says “a harvest of righteousness and peace.” Who doesn’t want those in their life? Right?

The next part says “for those who have been trained by it.” Are you allowing His discipline to train you or are you making it harden your heart? The more you dig your feet into the sand, the harder the discipline that will come your way.

Your discipline, or eventual judgment, is based on your willingness to Repent. Teshuva. So, are you allowing yourself to be trained by YHWH’s discipline?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
