All Times – John 13:12-15

John 13:12-15
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Here we see Yeshua, the Messiah Himself, washing the feet of His disciples. He said He set us an example and that we should do the same. I know we have all heard and read these verses before. However, have we truly let His words sink into our hearts? We aren’t talking about just serving. We’re talking about the ultimate in humbling oneself to wash the feet of others.

I know there are some who have been a part of foot washing services before and it really touched them. Yet, even in those, I struggle to think we are grasping the depth of what Yeshua was portraying to His disciples. He wanted them to be servants to one another at all times. Not just here or there, but at all times.
