Just Like Us – James 5:17-18

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

James 5:17-18
Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

Elijah was a man just like us. I don’t know about you, but many times when I read the scriptures, I tend to imagine things in my head about that which I am reading. As a result, I often forget that the very stories that I’m reading are real-life events. Real life events with real-life people.

People. People just like us. This should tell us that just as YHWH used these real-life people, He can use us as well. These people weren’t perfect. Moses Killed a man. David committed adultery. Jonah ran from YHWH. Yet, He used all of them just the same.

Don’t underestimate what YHWH can do through you. That’s the very thing the enemy wants you to do. If he can convince you that YHWH can’t use you, He’ll never have to worry about you then. That’s why he tries so hard to convince you of that.

Remember, Elijah was a man just like us.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
