“Informational” – Ephesians 5:8-11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ephesians 5:8-11
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

I’ve mentioned before how we as believers should have nothing to do with the deeds of the world. It’s verse 11 here that I’ve heard many use for sharing such things with others. Again, verse 11 says…

11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

It’s the phrase “but rather expose them.” that people use for sharing the sins of the world as “informational posts” on FaceBook. But there’s no exposing what’s already done in the open. What else would be in a sinful world but sinful ways? You’ll only be assisting in sharing it. Does that make sense?

Paul is talking to believers in regards to sin that’s in the Body Messiah. Thus, “exposing” that which is being done in the body of believers. Even in that, we must use wisdom and care.

So please, use caution with “informational posts” about things in the world.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
