Needed Traits – Colossians 3:12

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

For some, these traits come second nature. However, for the rest of us, well, we have to work at them. For example, someone who has a prophet like gifting or mentality will struggle with most all of these. Again, the five traits were compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

A prophet will struggle with compassion when you fall and get muddy. He’ll just tell you “I told you so!” And a prophet will struggle with kindness because he feels he’s called to slap you back in place. Humility is not even on his radar because he feels he comes with the authority of YHWH. Gentleness is not an option for him as that only shows weakness in his opinion. And lastly, patience. Well, that’s the thing you’re testing when you just ask him a question on what he’s talking about.

However, regardless of your gifts or calling, we can’t ignore the fact that we are to be growing in these traits. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
