Acts 6:8-10 – Make it happen (June 21)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Tuesday. June 21st. The 3rd day of the Hebraic week.

Our verses today are Acts 6:8-10.

Acts 6:8
Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people. 9 Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called) – Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen, 10 but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.

First, if you have the time sometime today, I would strongly encourage you to read the rest of this chapter along with chapter 7. We’ll be going over most it all the next few days.

I know that verse 8 is just amazing at how YHWH did great things through Stephen. And I really don’t want to take away from that. Yet, there is another element to these verses found in verse 10 that I believe is just too quickly breezed over. It says…

“But they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.”

Wow. What a testimony. Seriously. Just think about that for a second. Would you like to have that said of you? I hope your answer is yes. My next question is “What are you doing to make it happen?”

“But they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.”

What are you doing to make that be said of you?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
