Wise Guy – 1 Corinthians 3:18

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Corinthians 3:18
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise.

“Do not deceive yourselves.” Man has a way of just messing things up don’t they. For some reason we just like to think we have all the answers. But there in lies the problem. We don’t. We have bits and pieces of a lot, but when it really comes down to it, we are not nearly as smart as we think we are.

So that being said, how should we view ourselves? Paul here tells us that we should become a fool to the standards of this age. That’s right. A fool.

We’ve all been brought up in various denominations. Are you willing to be mocked as a fool from that denomination? In the light of man’s teachings that are accepted by the majority, we are to consider ourselves a fool in order to truly become wise. To go against the accepted norms that man promotes.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
