Encouraged – Philippians 1:14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Philippians 1:14
Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.

Others were encouraged to stand up for the truth more courageously because of Paul being in prison. Now, maybe it’s just me, but don’t you think that because Paul was in prison for the gospel that others would be less optimistic about sharing the gospel? However, maybe there’s something we’re missing in understanding what’s going on here.

I believe that “something” is Paul’s attitude while being in prison. He kept an attitude that was right before the Father. He wasn’t crying or whining. He wasn’t complaining or regretting his actions that put him there. He never prayed “Father, how could you?” No. Not at all. In fact, it was just the opposite.

Paul didn’t have time for that. He knew his mission and he did all he could to do that mission regardless of what life threw at him. It’s in this where people found their courage. So, what do people see when seeing you go through hard times? Does it give them courage?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
