Needless Divisions – 1 Timothy 2:8

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Timothy 2:8
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

This is a verse I wish more people would consider and take more seriously. Did you know that it’s OK to have friends that don’t agree with you on every point that you believe? I know that may be hard for some to accept but it’s true. You really can have friends with differing opinions on multiple subjects.

There will always be topics that people will hold to more passionately than others. And that’s OK. However, does that give them a right to look down on those that disagree with them? Does that give them a right talk about them? Does that give them a right to argue their point to prove they are right over the other?

Arguing creates canyons out differences. It widens the divide to being almost unbridgeable. Attitudes are then fostered and nurtured on both sides. How does that benefit anyone? It doesn’t.

Again, our verse. I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
