Our Mission – 1 Peter 3:15

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Notice our verse says to be ready to give an answer. Not be ready to argue. It even says we are to do this with gentleness and respect. How often have you ever seen someone swayed to the truth because they were out argued? Not only is not common, I think it could be labeled as beyond rare. Yet, that seems to be the method of out reach that so many choose to move in. To try and convince someone is wrong by arguing.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we are not called to convince people of anything. We are called to tell them the truth in love. How are you doing in our mission?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
