Against You? – Genesis 42:36

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Genesis 42:36
Their father Jacob said to them, “You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!”

Ever felt that way before? That everything was against you? When we go through those times, it can feel like YHWH is just so far away. As if no matter what we do, nothing can make the situation better. Nothing can alleviate the pain or the frustration. Yet, sometimes that’s where the Father wants us to be. How many times have we read different situations in the scriptures where it was these very kind of moments that we see YHWH’s hand sweep down and intervene?

This situation is truly no different. He thought Joseph was dead, Simeon was in prison to never return and who knew what could happen to Benjamin? Little did he know that not only would Simeon and Benjamin be OK, but he would see Joseph in a little while. He would see him second in command to all Egypt. So was everything against him? It may not all be going against you either.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
