All the Way – Exodus 10:10-11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Exodus 10:10
Pharaoh said, “YHWH be with you – if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil. 11 No! Have only the men go; and worship YHWH, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.

Have you ever wondered why it wasn’t good enough for only the men to go? I mean think about it. The command in the scriptures regarding the feast days actually only required the men to appear before YHWH. This command is found in Exodus 23:17, 34:23 and also in Deuteronomy 16:16. One can’t help but wonder why it wasn’t good enough for this time.

The only conclusion that I can currently think of is it was actually to protect the women and children from Pharaoh. Pharaoh said their request had only been for the men anyway. Yet, Exodus 5:1 makes it clear that the original request was for the people of Israel to go and not just the men. So what was his motives in that? When the Father tells you to do something, follow it all the way.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
