Be Wise – 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Thessalonians 5:22
Avoid every kind of evil.

So, how do we avoid every kind of evil when we live in a world that is filled with every kind of evil? Do we just pack up and head for the deep woods? If we do that, how can we be the light of the world? Wouldn’t that be a form of taking the light and hiding it? Of course it would. As long as we are in this world, we are to be the light of the world. However, if we mix that light with the darkness of the world, we are no longer the light the world needs.

So we find a balance is needed. While we shine His light to the world around us, we have to avoid the evil within it just the same. Is that an easy task? Not necessarily. Especially when evil is made to look so attractive and tempting. Yet, we know that’s nothing new. Avoiding evil is not hiding from the world though. It’s being wise in our decisions that we make everyday. Every hour. Every minute.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
