Cold as Ice – Hebrews 4:7

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Hebrews 4:7
Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”

One of my favorite ministers and authors is AW Tozer. He once made a statement that I believe rings true with far more of us than we may want to confess. He said…

“Most christians don’t hear God’s voice because we’ve already decided we aren’t going to do what He says.” AW Tozer.

So what about you? Think of something you have absolutely no desire to do. In fact, think of something you know you just flat out won’t do. Go ahead. Think of something. Now, What if YHWH tells you to do it? What then? Will you do it? Really?

Many of us think we don’t have a hard heart towards YHWH. In fact, many of us can’t imagine that thought about ourselves. It’s always somebody else, right? Surely we have a heart to follow after Him. However, maybe we need to challenge ourselves in that though.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
