Common Thought – Philippians 1:29-30

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Philippians 1:29
For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

Though few refer to them, Paul makes several references throughout his writings about suffering for the faith. Our verse today is one of them. Verse 29 says that we are granted this opportunity. Have you ever thought of suffering for the faith as an opportunity? To think of it as something we are granted? For some of us, this may sound like a foreign thought. But it was a common and most likely a daily thought for Paul.

That being said, should it be a thought for us? What are we willing to suffer for on account of the faith? Have you ever pondered that before? There are many believers around the world to this very day who suffer unimaginable things for the sake of the faith. Are you willing to as well? Do you share the common thought of Paul?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
