Don’t Conceal and Carry – Proverbs 28:13

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 28:13
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Ok. If we look at this verse closely, we see three types of people here. First, those who conceal their sins. Second, those who confess their sins. Third, those who confess and renounce their sins.

Confessing your sins is not renouncing them, but if one renounces their sin, they have to first confess them.

This verse tells us if one conceals their sins, they will not prosper. Oh, they can still make lots of money and get all kinds things from this world, but is that what you call prosperity? One who has no desire whatsoever to walk in the ways of YHWH will only find pleasures in the temporary things of this world.

Yet, if a believer who knows better still conceals his sin, he is only placing himself in a position to be rejected. One who is concealing their sin is deliberately sinning. It’s not like they fell to a temptation and then repented. They are willingly hiding their sin with plans to sin again.

13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
