Dead or Alive – Revelation 3:1-3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Revelation 3:1
…I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

These were the words Yeshua spoke to the church of Sardis. Out of all seven of the churches, I personally believe they received the scariest words. Why? Because this fellowship thought they were doing good. They were obviously doing good deeds. Those deeds must have given them a reputation to all others as being alive. Yet, Yeshua made it clear they were dead.

So now the question is, are you dead or alive? It doesn’t matter what anyone else says of you. Your reputation to others is virtually meaningless to Yeshua. What are you doing to impress Him? Are you dead or alive?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
