Don’t Stop Believin’ – Luke 18:1

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Did you hear that? He told them a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. So, I have two questions. 1) Do you always pray? And 2) Do you ever give up?
Now if your anything like me, there could be those times when you don’t want to give up. However, there might be that lingering thought that says “What if it’s not His will?” It’s not that you question the ability of the Father to answer the prayer. You question the possibility if it’s in His will to answer it to your request. Have you ever been there before? Surely I’m not the only one.
Here’s the thing. When we pray, we should always pray for His will. The context of the parable is actually talking about receiving justice. So while it can be OK to pray for something nice if it’s in His will, His greater concern is for us to not give up in praying for justice.
