Enough is Enough – Proverbs 23:4

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 23:4
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.

How much is enough? I suppose it all depends on who you ask. We all have different levels of what we believe is “enough”. So when do our “needs” turn into “wants” even though we may be calling them “needs”? It’s confusing I know, but let’s face it. We all have said “I need this” or “I need that.” Yet, in reality, we know we didn’t REALLY need it.

It’s one thing to work extra hours to make ends meet, but it’s another thing to constantly work for something that you really don’t need. Oh, there’s nothing wrong with working a little extra here and there for something you may be saving up for. But as a whole, can you say “I’m content with what I have in my life.”?

Remember, 1 Timothy 6:6 “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

Having the extra’s that the world has to offer can be fun, but be careful.

4 Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
