Follow Through – Isaiah 1:19-20

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Isaiah 1:19
“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of YHWH has spoken.

“If you are willing and obedient.” These are the words of YHWH Himself. Did He say to just believe? No. He didn’t. He said “If you are willing and obedient.”

Remember what Yeshua said to His disciples in the garden?

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.

We can’t just have a willingness. We have to have the obedience as well. It’s like how I heard a golfer once say “It’s not just the hit. It’s the follow through the makes the difference.” You can have all the willingness there is, but if that willingness isn’t followed through in obedience, what’s the use?

One last thing to note. Our verse says the opposite of being willing and obedient is to resist and rebel. So, how’s your “follow through”?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
