Great Patience – 2 Timothy 4:1-2

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Timothy 4:1-2
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.

First, these were instructions given straight to Timothy. However, they are words of wisdom we need to take into consideration for ourselves. Even if you don’t consider yourself a teacher or a leader, these words can speak volumes to us. We’re all teachers to some degree. No matter who we are or where we are, people are watching. So, how well do we preach, correct, rebuke and encourage others?

Paul instructed Timothy to do so with great patience and careful instruction. Can you say you do that? With great patience and careful instruction. Or are you more apt to be just the opposite with those who struggle in understanding? Patience is not an easy thing to come for some, let alone “great patience.” But it can be done. It needs to be done.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
