He Knows Best – Exodus 13:18

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Exodus 13:18
So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle.

Can you imagine what that looked like? They were dressed ready for battle. These men probably had their chests out and heads up like they were able to defeat anyone who comes against them. They were pumped up and ready to go.

Yet, let’s consider the previous verse.

Exodus 13:17
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

Isn’t this the funniest thing? They were dressed ready for battle most likely thinking they were invincible. Yet, YHWH knew their heart and led them the long way around so they wouldn’t face a battle.

YHWH know’s what is best for us. Sometimes He leads us the long way around to protect us, regardless of what we think we are capable of. Remember, He knows best.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
