His Purpose – Proverbs 19:21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is YHWH’s purpose that prevails.

We have all had plans for something that we detailed out. Yet, how often do those details go as planned? However, nothing catches YHWH off guard. He always knows what’s coming and you’ll never hear Him say “oops.” Knowing that He sees tomorrow, we shouldn’t be surprised that His purpose prevails. That being said, should we pray that He blesses our plans or rather pray that our plans are in His will?

The Hebrew word for “plans” in our verse could actually be rendered as “thoughts” and the Hebrew word for “purpose” could also be rendered as “counsel.” So this verse could read “Many are the plans(thoughts) in a man’s heart, but it is YHWH’s purpose(counsel) that prevails.”

In other words, be cautious in your thoughts. Be cautious in making your plans. Let your thoughts and planning be led by the counsel of YHWH. Not only in the “big” things, but in your everyday life.

Pray that your plans are in His will and be willing to change accordingly if they aren’t.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
