His Timing – Genesis 41:9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Genesis 41:9
Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I am reminded of my shortcomings.”

What was his shortcomings? He forgot about Joseph. He was supposed to remember Joseph in hopes to help him. But he completely forgot. Joseph was forgotten for 2 years. Think about that for a second. Joseph was probably thinking it would only take two hours or two days. Maybe a maximum of two weeks or two months. You can’t help but wonder if he just gave up hope after that.

Have you ever wondered why YHWH made Joseph wait all that time? I’ve often wondered if it was to wait till he was 30. That seems to be an age mentioned several times in scripture with significance. We really have no idea why YHWH made him stay there all that time. Yet, the same applies to our life as well. We may not always understand His timing, but He has His reasons.

It’s during those times that we need to do our best to hold on tight and trust His timing.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
