History – Hosea 9:7-8

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Hosea 9:7
The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired man a maniac. 8 The prophet, along with my God, is the watchman over Ephraim, yet snares await him on all his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

I don’t consider myself a prophet, however, I do believe we are nearing a time when judgement could begin. Exactly when or how it will look is yet to be seen. Yet, as we have all heard the phrase “History repeats”, I believe these words spoken through Hosea to a people long ago can be equally applied to the people of YHWH today.

Because the people were so deceived by their sins, they considered anyone who preached truth to be a fool. Sin has a way of deceiving us. Especially when we are not reprimanded for that sin right away. In order to not repeat history, maybe we should consider studying it a little more.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
