Honor One Another – Romans 12:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

This is an easy verse to follow through with when we’re talking about someone who we believe is honorable. However, what do we do when we’re talking about someone who we don’t believe is honorable? At least not in certain areas. What do we do then? Just ignore this verse the best we can? Of course not.

This is best addressed when we consider what the first part of the verse says. It says “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.” Regardless of our view towards someone, we are to be devoted to them in brotherly love. This truly falls under the command of loving your neighbor as yourself and even Yeshua’s instruction to do unto others as we would have them do to us. Yeshua’s words are basically saying the same thing as the command.

Here’s the thing. Don’t complain about someone if you haven’t first been praying for them. I’m not talking about praying about them. I’m talking about praying for them.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
