House Rules – Ephesians 2:19

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Ephesians 2:19
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,

This is a verse I had heard many times when growing up. Yet, not till the later years of my life have I truly come to understand the ramifications of it’s meaning. It says we are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household.

So it’s His household. Angela and I used to do foster care. We had several children over the years and each time we had one come in we gave them the exact same rules as all the others. There was no one set of rules for this child and a completely different set for another. They were all given the same rules.

Since we are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, do we think there will really be different rules between the Jews and the gentiles? Do we really think that He would do away with His rules that He established as “forever”? His house rules are forever.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
