Jan. 2

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday January 2nd. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And everybody says “HalleluYah.”

Our verse today is Gal. 6:14

Gal. 6:14
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

When reading from Paul, it never ceases to amaze me just how often he made it a point to walk humbly before YHWH. Plus, he made it a point to constantly give reminders to all he knew to do the same. Sometimes I think because we see those reminders so often, we tend to not let them impact our lives the way they should.

Sometimes it seems that we may think that we don’t need to learn that lesson again because that’s the basics right? But maybe we need to take to heart the reason why Paul gives so many reminders about it. Think about it. How many times have you fallen to the same sin over and over? You knew it was sin. Yet, you fell to it again.

So is it really out of reason for Paul constantly remind us that we should be dead to the world and the world to be dead to us? Should we really approach that as something basic or even elementary? Or should we approach it as something lethal and a constant danger around every corner? That if it is not looked upon in that light, we are putting ourselves in harms way.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
