Left Alone – Acts 5:38-39

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Acts 5:38-39
Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.

I can’t tell you how many messages I’ve heard preached on these verses. Most all of those messages talked about how we are more than conquerors. Yet, how many believers over the centuries, and even millennia, were not left alone like those in our verse? In fact, how many of them were tortured or martyred for their faith over the years?

Don’t get me wrong. I believe very much that we are more than conquerors. However, I believe we are conquerors over sin. That does not mean we will all escape death, persecution or martyrdom. Though I agree that not everyone will face these, we can’t be blinded to the fact it’s still a possibility for believers today no matter where we live.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
