Lonely Places – Luke 5:16

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Luke 5:16
But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

I believe this is one the most overlooked verses in all the Bible. It seems that so many talk about Yeshua coming and showing us how to live the Torah. And He did indeed do that. But he came to show how the Torah is to be lived out in a relationship to the Father.

It’s not about “do’s and don’t’s.” The Torah is all about loving the Father. Walking with the Father. This verse should be shouted from the roof tops to every believer. He saw it was necessary for him to pray often and alone. If He saw it was a need in His life, how much more should we? How much more should we make that time happen in our own lives? We all know time won’t just fall in our laps. We have to consciously make time. We have to purposefully set everything to the side and make that time with Him. Our savior made time for prayer. We need to do the same. How can we expect to live a life like Him if we don’t pray like Him.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
