March 19 – Genesis 40:23

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday. March 19th. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And everybody says “HalleluYah!”

Our verse today is Genesis 40:23.

Genesis 40:23
The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.

Well, we all know this story about Joseph. But today, I want us to focus on this element. Sometimes we can go through life and feel like we’ve been forgotten. Not just by people, but YHWH as well. We can go through times in this life when it just feels like our prayers are going to an answering machine.

And they might be from a certain perspective. It’s not that He’s not listening. Oh no. He’s listening for sure. Yet, there might be a certain timing that YHWH is wanting to take place. Our timing is hardly ever His. But that doesn’t mean that He has forgotten you. Did you hear that? one more time. Our timing is hardly ever His. But that doesn’t mean that He has forgotten you.

He’s working in the background on many other things. Maybe in you. Maybe in others. Maybe getting situations ready for you. Don’t move ahead him. Wait on Him.

Think of it this way. Your a chess piece on a chess board. Specifically a knight. You see a move that can be made where you can attack. Yet, YHWH is not moving you there. You get anxious because you think the opportunity is going to pass. You ask Him to make the move. He doesn’t. So you decide to make the move on your own. You conquer and all is great. Until, that is, the opponent’s bishop, that you didn’t see, takes you out. All because you didn’t wait for him to prepare the way. He’s not forgotten you. He’s just getting things ready.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
