You Might be a Teacher if… – James 3:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

James 3:1
Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Teachers will be judged more strictly. Wow. So do you consider yourself a teacher? You might quickly say “No.” But, think about it for a second. One who walks around trying to tell others what they know is one who is trying to teach others. This makes them a teacher.

Whether you have an audience of one or a thousand and one, you can be playing the role of a teacher. You don’t have to have a congregation. You don’t have to have a pulpit. You don’t have to have a classroom. You don’t have to have a website. All you need is listeners.

If you find yourself stepping up to the plate in Bible studies more often than not, you might be a teacher. If people come to you with questions, you might be a teacher. If you get just as excited about sharing information as you go about learning it, you might be a teacher. If you get excited about making PowerPoint presentations, you might be a teacher.

Whatever you do, don’t forget that teachers will be judged more strictly.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
