Opposition – 2 Timothy 4:14,15

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

2 Tim. 4:14
Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done. 15 You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message.

Have you ever been wronged before? Of course you have. How did you handle it? It’s never
easy. At least it seems that way. Be it from an unbeliever or a believer, being wronged is just
never fun

Look at Paul’s words in verse 14 again. “The Lord will repay him for what he has done.” Paul
chose to hand it all over. He didn’t take vengeance in his own hands. It appears that this
individual was an unbeliever. Or, at the very least one who opposed the truth that Paul was
preaching.

All we know about this man was that Paul said: “he strongly opposed our message.” How do
you handle someone who “strongly opposes” your message? Do you get defiant and engage with an all-out debate?

Remember, we aren’t called to change people’s minds. We are called to give the truth in love. It’s OK to try and reason with someone. However, if after that it appears that neither side see’s the other view, there is no need for continuing. You did your job. The rest is in the hands of the Father.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
