Our Fortress – Psalm 62:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 62:1
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

Let’s focus on the closing words here. “I will never be shaken.” Would you like to never be shaken? Silly question right? Yet, these two verses show us what it takes to never be shaken.

When we find our rest in YHWH, when we acknowledge He is our salvation, and act upon the fact that He is our rock and fortress, then we will never be shaken. Why will we never be shaken then? Because then we are established on Him.

This sounds easy on the surface. However, what does it really mean to make him our rock? What does it mean to make Him our fortress? It means to trust nothing else. To put all of our trust completely on Him. This can, and will be tested often when things are removed from our lives. It’s in those tests we find who or what we make to be our fortress.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
