Parents – Judges 2:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Judges 2:10
After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither YHWH nor what he had done for Israel.

This is what was said of the generation that came right after the time of Joshua. Where were the parents all those years? Did they forget the command given in Deuteronomy 6:7?

Deuteronomy 6:7
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

How can a whole generation just appear without knowing anything about YHWH? I’m not talking about a generation of people from the world. I’m talking about a generation that came straight from those who saw the hand of YHWH do mighty things.

Parents, what are you doing for your children today? What are you doing to see that they are grounded and established in the faith? It’s obvious from these verses that having YHWH do mighty things for you will not be enough for them. It’s on you to teach and train them in His ways.

Let’s not take for granted the influence parents have on their children.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
